Sunriver, Oregon

Client:

Architect: Barber Barrett Turner
Architects
Construction Costs: $617,634
Completion Date: February 1999
Contract Type: GMP
Scope
of Work:
The work was performed in an environmentally sensitive area and was
overseen by DEQ, the State of Oregon, Sunriver Owners Association
and Deschutes County. The existing Trout House was torn down, with only
three walls remaining from the original structure, in order to make
way for the new structure and additional square footage. Pilings were
driven at the edge of the river and large steel beams were set on the
pilings for the foundation. The building was then rebuilt on steel beams,
and is cantilevered over the river, with hand-peeled logs and wood panelling
accenting the interior. Construction began in September 1998 and was
completed in February 1999 in order for the work to be performed during
this landmark restaurants off-season.
